A Content Management System (CMS) allows web site owners to manage the content and structure of their site without needing to know anything about HTML.

 

We have recently started using a web based CMS that is completely configurable and can be easily extended.

 

As the developer, we create one or more templates to define how the web site will look.

 

Then, you create your web site by adding pages and entering content. Content is edited via a word processor style system which allows to to format text, add pictures, links and so on.

 

It is also possible to transfer an existing web site into the CMS.

Printed4U already had a successful web site selling personalised party invitations, change of address cards, etc, but realised that they needed to stay one step ahead of the competition.

 

We were asked to design and build an enhanced version (www.printed4u.com) of their current site, with even more online design features for their customers.

 

The new web site was fully e-commerce enabled using Cactushop which gave them full control over the site and their products, as well as integration with multiple payment gateways.

 

To give them the edge, we also built in the ability for the customer to personalise the cards online with their own text, font colour, style and size.

 

The personalised card can then be previewed immediately to check how it will look. Another powerful feature is the ability to save a design and come back to it at any time in the future.

 

Of course, all of the personalisation features are fully configurable, per card, via the customised administration system!
